Heart To Heart:
Resilience Skills for Children and Caregivers
Heart To Heart: Resilience Skills for Kids and Parents
A 6-Week Live-Online Class
We all hope for our children to meet the challenges of life with resilience and inner strength. This 6-week class for parents and children will help kids ages 7-11 develop resilience skills, including self-compassion, to manage those ups and downs.
Self-compassion might sound soft, but it is a powerful tool for supporting a child’s emotion regulation. Studies have shown self-compassion is associated with lower levels of depression and anxiety, improved coping skills, and improvements in emotional well-being for both parents and children.
This fun and playful 6-week, live-online class, created by Jamie Lynn Tatera, is an adaptation of the Mindful Self-Compassion training for adults. It incorporates engaging activities and metaphors to help children learn how to recognize their emotions, begin to soothe themselves, and develop a kind and compassionate inner voice that will help them do hard things without being so hard on themselves. And, it provides parents and children an opportunity to forge a deeper connection.
